Gallery Orinoco looks to be opening this weekend. It's a fine arts gallery, mostly paintings and a few sculptures upstairs; I was able to get in for a sneak-peek. Nice stuff. Out front there is a small stage for performers, a bar and a good-sized area for people to dance. I'm thinking they may add some benches of other seating in before they're done.
There's have a lineup of live musicians and a DJ all afternoon and evening on Sunday. There are two Friendly Fire shows that day but I'm sure I'll be able to drop by Orinoco a couple of times.
I had gone out for dinner with my daughter, that made me a little late for Friendly Fire playing in their Glamshack but I made the last half of the show. There was a good crowd there, many regulars including Niky and a few new people as well. I spent most of the time up on my stool.
After Case and Mack were done I received notice that Heath was playing at a new venue for him called In The Mood. I headed over, it had been a while since I have listened to him. Padula showed up for a while, too! Heath had all new songs, at least they were new to me, and of course they were all really good.
They had some rental property near the venue that I looked at after the show. They were right in my price range, and on an island so I'd keep my water view and have a place for the schooner. I'll keep an eye on it when my current lease is up next week. The place has about 9 rentals, 2 inland and the rest on the water. There are none of the amenities that TNW has, like the gym and mall and club, but I really don't find myself using them much.
I figured out my problem with the schooner. Going back over my notes I came across something Iso had said. Following her direction I did some more research on it and figured out exactly what my problem is and how to fix it. It'll be tedious, but I'll be able to get the seating just the way I like it.
As I was tinkering around with that Isobela called to say she was going to Fibbers and to see if I wanted to also. Of course I did, and arrived a little before her. I opened the door, stepped in and was hit full in the face with DJ John's awesome Rock as Ajay, Jennifer and Spook screamed my name. What a fantastic place.
Isobela showed up shortly and we danced. Jennifer was doing a great job as hostess for John, Ajay and the Spook were there as I've noted; Brooke and Mack and Case and Imaginer and Tkid; Smitty, Neferon, Synapse and Hy and plenty of new friends as always. And Alaska. It had been far too long since I've seen her, and it was so great to see her smiling face walking in the back door. We had a very nice chat as the songs and people and sound echoed all around.
Isobela had a wardrobe malfunction, but I think I'm the only one that noticed. She asked a couple of other people and they didn't see it. John played well over the allotted time; almost a double shift. The music was a fantastic mix of everything good.
One of the new people, Arabella, was overheard saying "I'm in some strange bar in Dublin ... dancing." My friend Jennifer summed up what we were all thinking by saying "Arabella - it doesn't get any better than this!"

You know, it really doesn't get much better than it was last night. That was one of those simply awesome nights at Fibbers where the music is hot, the fuegos are hotter, and the company is explosive!

I heard that Dublin 2 and 3 will be opening on March 17th, St. Patrick's Day. I'm hoping that they will be just as cool as the original Dublin, but then there aren't enough hours in the day already!

I have always felt that Dublin is my home, away from home. Saturday Night reminded me of that. Most of if not all of the people that I am lucky enough to call friends and family, I have met in Dublin, either at Fibbers or The Blarney Stone.
I am a very lucky women to have found that place.....
